Laura Lucille (Vantine) Jobe
Laura Lucille (Vantine) Jobe went home to her heavenly father March 4, 2016. Lucille was born March 7, 1917 to Dora Willia (Fletcher) and John Logan Vantine in Quanah. She and W.C. Jobe were married June 5, 1938 in Quanah, where they made their home. To this union were born Lewyn M, Claudia Ann and John Mark Jobe. Services were held Tuesday at The First Baptist Church with Bro. Ron Fox and Rev. Larry Holder officiating. Lucille was a long time member of the First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and on many committees. She loved her church and church family. She loved her Lord and Savior and gave her life to him when she was eight years old. After W.C. died in 1958 she worked for the the Quanah Cotton Oil Company and served as the Hardeman County Treasurer for twenty-four years. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Mark Vantine and John Vantine, and her sister Daisy Bob Pruitt. She is survived by sons Lewyn M. Jobe and wife Barbara of Flint, John Mark Jobe (Her faithful caretaker), and daughter Claudia (Jobe) Hutchinson, Ft Worth, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
